Today is day three on the juice fast. I am feeling great! I only needed six hours of sleep last night and I typically need eight. I woke up refreshed and alert at 6 AM this morning! Yesterday I really was not hungry very much but found myself thinking a lot about food all afternoon. I was daydreaming of when I can eat again and what I would eat! This is very typical because we are so addicted to the habit of eating. Of course it’s a very large part of our life and when we give it up, we tend to obsess about it and probably crave things that we normally wouldn’t. It’s one of the most fascinating things of a juice fast to me. I like to play the noticer and just observe my thoughts concerning food. Today my hunger is almost gone. Yippee! I am thinking about food 90% less than yesterday. I love the extra energy I have! My body is getting nourished by organic micro-nutrients and it is healing my cells.
One of the results I wanted to see from this juice fast was to get rid of some mild arthritic pain in my right hand. I can happily report that after only one day of juice fasting, the pain is gone! This is the illness that I want to concentrate on today. Just as a reminder the body is the only thing that heals itself! The juices simply give your body what it needs to function properly. Depending on how toxic your body is determines how long a disease process will take to be healed. Remember that symptoms are simply messengers to notify us to make changes in our lifestyle. Unfortunately in allopathic medicine, the symptom is considered evil and must be eliminated. Drugs will eliminate the symptoms but they don’t heal the body. The more we ignore the warning sign, a.k.a. the symptom, the more unhealthy the body becomes. True healing is a process and comes from within!
The juice combinations to use to help the body heal arthritis are as follows:
- 16 ounces of fresh grapefruit juice (breaks down calcium deposits)
- 10 ounces of carrot and 6 ounces of spinach
- 16 ounces of straight celery juice
- 9 ounces of carrot and 7 ounces of celery
- 10 ounces of carrot, 3 ounces of beet, and 3 ounces of cucumber
- 4 ounces of pineapple, 2 ounces of beet root, 1 ounce of celery & 1 ounce of watercress
- 4 ounces of celery, 4 ounces of cucumber, 1 ounce of parsley, and 1 ounce of watercress
Off to meet some of my fellow juicers for a juice dinner at a local juice bar. See you tomorrow!
